About Radboud University

Radboud University (RU) is one of the leading Dutch universities, acclaimed for its quality of teaching and research. It has seven faculties and enrolls almost 24.633 students (October 2022). RU has been internationally ranked as 101-150 in the ARWU / Shanghai ranking of 2021, 139th in the THE ranking 2022, and 220th in the QS World University Ranking of 2022. The Institute for Molecules and Materials (IMM) is an interdisciplinary institute which employs about 270 people (staff, researchers, PhD students, management). It is part of the Faculty of Science of Radboud University RU.

Role in project

At RU PhD student 8 will carry out data base screening with first-principles computations to search for novel promising thermomagnetic materials. At the initial stage PhD student 8 will develop and implement the screening criteria, building on input of the other project partners (secondment at Magneto). The optimisation effort with be carried out in collaboration DUK (secondment at DUK). Results will benefit the materials development at BAM, TU Delft and CNR (secondment). PhD student 8 will also carry out in-depth computational characterisation of the most promising new materials.
