Work Packages

WP1 Industrial impact will identify and target industries with a high waste heat potential. Based on their detailed needs, specifications for devices will be defined and realized.

The main objective of WP2 Demonstrator is to construct and experimentally validate three efficient demonstrators for conversion of waste heat to electricity in the power range of 10 μW, 1 W, and 100 W. For these specific devices we will define the required material properties.

The focus of WP3 Materials modelling is the inverse design of materials. Through the combination of physics simulations spanning different length scales and machine learning based optimization chemical compositions and microstructures for materials with a steep magnetization change and low heat capacity will be derived.

WP4 Materials fabrication and characterization focuses on materials preparation, shaping and functional characterization. WP4 will provide feedback to WP3 for model improvement and will supply tailored materials for the devices developed in WP2.

WP5 Education and Training concerns interdisciplinary training of DCs interdisciplinary in engineering, physics, and materials science, with an emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship in sustainable development. Through secondments the DCs will engage in all fields of materials development for energy, ranging from physics to industrial praxis.
